Sal Pichireddu One of my favourite "underground" ambient artists is Thomas Frühwacht from Dortmund/Germany aka. Earlyguard. I simply love his slowly and tenderly evolving, soothing, almost healing sounds. The Gaia Theory features the stunning "Surrounded by Life". One can almost HEAR the life in the soundwaves that surround the listener. Favorite track: Surrounded by Life.

"The Gaia theory posits that the Earth is a self-regulating complex system involving the biosphere, the atmosphere, the hydrospheres and the pedosphere, tightly coupled as an evolving system. The theory sustains that this system as a whole, called Gaia, seeks a physical and chemical environment optimal for contemporary life."

This work was inspired by the Gaia theory which was formulated by the environmentalist James Lovelock and co-developed by the microbiologist Lynn Margulis.

"The Gaia Theory is a journey in truly beautiful sound... that, as a whole, makes me think of geodesic domes filled with flora and fauna... kind of like that Bruce Dern film "Silent Running"."

Felix Pharand-Deschenes (the founder of Globaia) created a fantastic visualisation of the human influence on our planet and decided to use an excerpt of "Into Biosphere" as background music. I feel very honoured.
