*No drones here but subtle, suspended piano notes that are sparse (structureless) but nicely accented for a meditative / stillness experience. Such space is needed more often then not. Peace... Contribute what you can.
Favorite track: Nachtgedanken Teil 1.
"Und in den dunklen Nächten fällt die schwere Erde aus allen Sternen in die Einsamkeit." ~ Rainer Maria Rilke
"One thing for sure here, [ Nachtgedanken ] built is rhythmically still or super slow, to the point where it test the limit of your patience. Think about it, 3 movements clocking next to two and half hours, be ready be get lost in still(ness).“
"Spectrally oscillating and clandestinely coruscating, these electro-acoustic sinews provide the trenchantly nocturnal reticulation and gyre around both high-chromaticity and softly glaucous patterns of aural colors. Here is a meticulous look at the album’s mystical aura and potentially soul-absorbing existence."
"Needless to say, it’s excellently done, a very immersive listening experience for listeners who like to be challenged (or who like to do zazen meditation). I’d say challenging the listener’s sonic assumptions concerning what is enjoyable for the ear and mind was one of the primary goals of the Feldmans and Cages of the 1950s, and this is music that only draws on the best of that tradition but fuses it with the sounds of modern experimental sound art in a masterful way."
This album will grow on you. Listen in headphones or earbuds. It will blow your mind. Steve has so many amazing textures and dimensions on this release. It's hard to pick a favorite track. Probably in his top 5, if there is such a thing. 2020Guitarman
