Four pieces for piano.
"I cannot, for my soul, remember how, when, or even precisely where, I first became acquainted with the lady Ligei."
~ Edgar Allen Poe (Ligeia, 1838)
“Thomas Frühwacht also known as [ Earlyguard ] is a determined artist distinguished in both modern classical and ambient drone dialect. On this latest release “Ligeia” Thomas shares his wideness of interests by engaging himself with four piano songs and while this release retain a certain lethargic atmosphere, depending on how you look at it… musically speaking, there’s little to no difference with other releases under the this moniker. This mostly goes in the sense that regardless of the approach Thomas takes; drone, ambient, classical or the pattern he follows, [ Earlyguard ] general outcome hide deeply behind its subtle improvisation and the tactic of catching listener’s by emotion. Interestingly the four pieces presented by Thomas this time can be considered as art-songs. It’s as though a delicate breath dawdles at the edges of the instrumental play all the way.”
